John Manton: Mastery in Pistol Making
Well this is awkward for those politicians who keep saying single shot muskets were the only things around when the Constitution was written and that the founders never imagined such innovations.
So the pump integrated into the main grip would feel like pulling/ reloading the bolt from a bolt action rifle?
Lots of "modern" firearm design elements were in exitance back then. The problem was that firearms with these features were expensive to make and had fragile aspects to them, particularly because of the state of metallurgy at the time. It was just not practical to mass produce such firearms due to cost and the limited skill of most soldiers. Why spend lots of money to provide features that most soldiers could not take advantage of?
I need one of those loading tools, but I can't afford an original one
Why do they have flintlock mechanisms?
This was often done to provide users something that felt more familiar. There are some models that conceal their reservoirs for various reasons as well as use flintlock style mechanisms because in many cases air guns were viewed with suspicion and sometimes banned outright.
My heart can't take much more of this.
Can't wait for the individual story videos
What a beauty!
In aesthetics, Spencer rifle is my pick. Carbine is good for convenience, handiness, good cavalry weapon, but rifle has better accuracy and range, and looks.
I’ve got a storage shed by them and on auction week it’s crazy there. Nice guy I first met in the 70’s he ran several video rental stores.
I was blessed to video an elderly Mexican woman who said that as a little girl, she asked Pancho Villa for her previously confiscated pony. He asked "Do you see it?" And told her to go get it and take it home!
Awesome place RIA has in FwD now...!! Amazing experience !
Thank you! Glad you could come see it in person.
the best brief account of the battle of little bighorn i have ever heard.
A few notes/yeahbuts- Fairbairn and Sykes also made a far more obscure dagger, the Shanghai dagger, that featured a stick tang welded to chopped up sections of bayonet blades. While not a great construction, the shape in my opinion was far better than the F/S as field knives go. The V-42 thumb groove puts your hand into a modified saber grip. Slashing from that position is doable but a bit awkward. However, together with the blade shape and fat leather on the guard it offers essentially peerless forward thrusting abilities. Todd Cutler currently makes a replica of a 1500's quillon dagger from the royal armories that is extremely similar to the V-42, even more so the prototypes, and I would speculate that same antique and probably others was likely also examined and considered while the V-42 was being inspired into existence on that UK trip. It would seem extremely likely Col Frederick would have been directed to their collection given his connections and needs and given open access.
My father was a staff sergeant in the FSSF. I still have his V-42 stiletto
I'm the first one on the new road. I have one of those; not signed of course. I would love to add that one to my collection. I was born in Bedford.
Perfect for planning valentines day outings!
Dude. This is poetry
On the first glance, thought the guy is burger frying chef... and then, still feels like
The same with the gold sword lot no 1454, only 23K This is off their own web page?
Don't care, didn't ask.
Then why watch this video?
It's Harry Mudd's Great-great-great-great-great grandfather!

If I had the money... That thing would go great with my standard Burgess shotgun.
Someone get it for Othais.
Neat!
Bodan was the MAN
Wish l could afford to bid on something. Bidennomics has just struggling to keep what I have already no way to get anything new.
Ria is the best in the busines! I wish they would let me play around like Ian does😂
👀👀👀weird
@user-cn8st9tm4i What's weird about having access to inspect and handle thousands of historical and modern firearms? You're the only weirdo here😆
Che meraviglia !!!👍👍👍🇺🇸🥰🥰🥰👍🇮🇹
I served with the 3rd Armored Cav at Fort Lewis Wa and helped with their move down to Fort Bliss Texas, moving with the advanced party for regimental Headquarters Communications. Love the cav.
PD Cheney, (jerseyville Illinois). Was in Position of one of Pancho Villa pistols in the late 60's-early 70's. His house was robbed and his wife and him tied up. CHENEY'S collection was extensive including a commissioned Jules Ceasar fountain. His collection was never recovered
Sounds like a commie
If only I had a million dollars...
Very very disappointed they got rid of the wall of guns. I'll never go back. That was the whole purpose of going there. You know it was cool cause this narrator had to show a picture of it while talking about all the words that now cover the walls. Bring back the real artifacts!!! Also he failed to talk about the large outdoor component to this formerly excellent museum. But maybe they wrecked that also
A man of such meritorious service should have a tank or APC named after him or something.
A Hangfire is when there is a tiny delay between pulling the trigger and ignition. "Going off half cocked" is the term that you describe. Fine weapons indeed that you have there. Thanks for sharing.
Original Star Wars yes, not this Disney garbage
When you started "BRAGGIN" on yerseff l said I'm outt'a heer!!
Known to the first people of the northern plains as Bear Coat Miles. He was fair as he could be regarding the Nez Perce and their very sad story
I don't think Remington would have used Winchester engravers on that Model 11.
Still don't understand "Pinch frame "...
Was the gun sold at auction
Thank you. Beautifully done sir
Amazing 😮😮🎉
If your gonna do it do it I’ve already lived and to say another “me”is highly offensive which is why I don’t show respect you’ll praise the idea of another me but when I was there none of you actually cared or showed empathy or emotion
Wooooow what a nice piece of history here. Excellent condition 👌
Them niggas put a switch on a flintlock ain’t no way 🤣
Them: "Dual wielding is not at all practical." Ed: "Skill issue."
When I was a child (yes, a long time ago), the MARX toy company sold miniature guns. My dad called them "Golden Guns". But they had Lugers, 1911's, and SAA's
